Hope's story
About me, I'm Hope.
I'm gorgeous, beautiful, friendly, and, best of all, an amazing mouser. If I'm being honest, I have a few "minor" issues. Due to a dog attack when I first arrived at the shelter, I have an ongoing hernia and some scar tissue on my lower abdomen. The doctor said that it can't be repaired anymore and that I have what is called an "ongoing hernia." This doesn't stop me or hold me down, however. It does not affect my health as I still have a hearty appetite and plenty of energy. I have an eye that weeps off and on but, again, according to this nice doctor lady, the eye issue does not affect my vision or my overall health. They tried giving me lysine treats to help with the eye but I didn't like them so whatever. The eye and the hernia may be unsightly but those small issues do not stop me from being lovable, sweet, and cute (in my opinion, I'm the cutest cat at this facility).
My positives? I get along with other cats, kids, teenagers, adults and anyone else who will scratch my ears, rub my tummy, or give me any sort of attention and/or food. I do well in carriers and don't mind being held from time to time. I also kill mice. I am the best mouser in Larned, Kansas and one of my life goals is to break the world record for most mice caught in Pawnee County.
